Kilbirnie Bus Depot Redevelopment

Redevelopment of existing Bus Depot site located in the Kilbirnie suburb of Wellington.

The existing site includes large workshop structures which may be retained and seismically upgraded as part of the redevelopment project.

The project will infill existing underfloor voids and provide new external hardstandings for bus parking, new workshop and office facilities, bus wash and fuelling area and be carried out over a number of stages in order for the depot to remain operational during the construction works.

Currently on hold awaiting decision on bus contracts for the Wellington Region.

Cuesko has been selected to provide full Quantity Surveying services on this project which is currently in the Concept Design Phase.

The challenges on this project include:
• Multiple stakeholders
• Contaminated site
• Confined site with maintaining bus operations during project
• Acoustic treatment to boundaries as the depot is in a residential neighbourhood
• Site surrounded on all four boundaries
