This project involved the insured’s claim and settlement for the repair and/ or replacement of the damaged assets at Wellington Port and waterfront damaged by the November 2016 earthquake.
The Christchurch Cuesko team provided independent Quantity Surveying services relating to the cost of repair and/ or replacement for all of Centreport’s infrastructure assets. This included 20 Wharves, 28 Seawalls, Pavements, Three Waters, Utilities, Plant and Equipment.
In addition to this, Cuesko provided cost advice support relating to the repair and or replacement for the Buildings damaged by the earthquake event.
Cuesko were engaged by Stantec Ltd, acting on behalf of the insurers, under a services agreement to provide independent construction cost consultancy services which included the interpretation of various engineering damage assessment reports to quantify various scopes and to estimate the total cost of repair and/ or replacement for each asset. These cost reports were then used to conduct Cuesko’s extensive reconciliations with Centreport’s counterclaims to produce an overall gap analysis relating to all Centreport’s assets, with the purpose to negotiate and achieve a final settlement between the insurer and the insured.
Our Christchurch office were assisted, when required, by the wider Cuesko teams in Whangarei and Auckland.
