Auckland Surf Park

The marquee element of the Auckland Surf Park project will be the 2.1ha surf lagoon, which uses Wave Garden’s revolutionary technology to generate up to 1000 artificial waves per hour, similar to ocean swells.

The development will also include a club house, multi-function buildings, surf academy, rental facilities and other amenity buildings, visitor accommodation, ‘farm-to-table’ restaurants and market space, a data centre,  solar farm, landscaped open spaces, ecological restoration and associated infrastructure.

In keeping with the client’s strong environmental ethos, the development will be grounded in numerous sustainable design elements. The solar farm will provide power for the data centre, and excess heat from the data centre will be used to heat the lagoon.

The project gained a significant boost when the Government confirmed it would refer the surf park to an expert consenting panel for consideration under the special Covid-19 “Fast Track” legislation designed to kick-start the economy post-pandemic.

We are also engaged to provide construction cost consultancy services during the next phases of the design, along with procurement advice and post-contract quantity surveying.
