Upon completion of the Airfield Pavement Upgrade WP1 & WP2, the project WP3 commenced in February 2025. Airfield Pavement Upgrade WP3 consists of two confirmed phases (Phase 1 and Phase 2), with a potential additional phase following Phase 2. Phase 1 is aimed for completion in June 2025, and the scope of work for Phase 2 is currently under development. The anticipated commencement of Phase 2 is later in 2025.
Phase 1 involves replacing 14,409m2 of existing asphalt pavement with new asphalt pavement, and 4,000m2 of existing asphalt pavement with new 500mm-thick concrete reinforced slabs that were constructed in the 1960s, alongside the associated replacement of . Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) and Design engineering was undertaken by GHD and AECOM. The physical works were competitively tendered, and awarded via a Framework Agreement.
Cuesko are engaged by Auckland Airport to provide full QS services, including concept and detailed design cost estimation, procurement, tender evaluation / negotiation, post-contract quantity surveying and cost management.
